Michael J. Fox Foundation Settles Over Spoiled Lab Samples

Law360, New York (April 14, 2015, 7:08 PM EDT) -- A federal judge Tuesday, upon advisement of a settlement, dismissed a breach of contract suit brought by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Inc. against a New Jersey medical lab alleging negligence at its facility caused the loss of more than $3.5 million in research biospecimens.

In her order, U.S. District Judge Marie Bumb said the suit was dismissed without costs and without prejudice but could be reopened upon motion and good cause shown within 60 days if the settlement is not consummated. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in the order or by either party Tuesday....
