P&G Sues S.C. Johnson To Protect Febreze Patents

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Procter and Gamble said Thursday the company wants to expose some dirty laundry about S.C. Johnson and Son Inc.'s Glade Fabric & Odor Eliminator sprays, slapping its home products competitor with a patent infringement lawsuit in the billion-dollar industry.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. According to the complaint, S.C. Johnson's “Glade Fabric and Odor Eliminator – Clean Linen” and “Glade Fabric and Odor Eliminator – Tropical Mist” violate U.S. Patent Numbers 5,783,544; 6,077,318; and 6,248,135....
