United Sues Pilots For Disrupting Operations

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- United Air Lines Inc. has filed a suit alleging its pilots union orchestrated a sickout to force the airline to reopen contract negotiations, resulting in a string of flight delays and cancellations that the company claims cost it millions.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, United accused the Air Line Pilots Association International and four named pilots of organizing the activity in opposition to the carrier's cost-saving plans to reduce fleet size and lay off pilots....
