Sex Discrimination Case Against IP Firm Goes On

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A sex discrimination case against New York intellectual property law firm Cohen Pontani Lieberman & Pavane LLP has survived summary judgment and will move toward trial, though not with all of its claims intact.

In an opinion filed Thursday, Judge Kimba M. Wood of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted in part and denied in part the firm's summary judgment bid.

Attorneys for the plaintiff claimed victory, however, saying that only some of the “secondary counts” were dismissed.
