Sony BMG Settles LVMH Trademarks Case

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy said on Thursday that it had settled its lawsuit against Sony BMG Music Entertainment over the improper use of LVMH trademarks in music videos and on CDs and DVDs for the music giant's artists.

Under the settlement, Sony will pay Louis Vuitton €97,000 for previous outstanding infringements related to music videos for its artists Da Brat and Britney Spears, as well as an undisclosed amount for Louis Vuitton's trademarks appearing on a Ruben Studdard CD.
