Claims Tossed In Sprint Nextel Sales Rep Pay Spat

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. has partially prevailed in its bid to dismiss claims from a putative nationwide class action brought by a group of sales representatives who sued to recoup hundreds of thousands of dollars in allegedly unpaid commissions.

Judge Kathryn Vratil of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas on Wednesday granted the telecommunications company's motion to toss breach-of-contract and other state-law claims from the representatives' amended complaint, but left actionable allegations under the Kansas Wage Payment Act.
