Former Treasury Official Part Of UBS Auction Rate Suit

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former U.S. Department of the Treasury official is reportedly one of the unnamed executives described in a lawsuit that New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo filed last week accusing UBS AG of fraudulently marketing and selling auction rate securities.

The individual described in Cuomo’s complaint as “Executive A” is David Aufhauser, the general counsel for UBS' investment banking unit, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
