Silicon Graphics Seeks To Retain Weil Gotshal

Law360, New York (May 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In lock step with its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday, computer maker Silicon Graphics Inc. is seeking to retain Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP as counsel.

The company, which cited poor investments made in the 1990s and competition from industry rivals as reasons for its filing, lodged the request in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

If approved, Gary T. Holtzer will lead the firm’s effort as the principal assigned to the case.
