Mining Co. Fights To Keep Alaska Settlement Intact

Law360 (August 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Teck Cominco Ltd. has asked a federal court to enforce a settlement it reached with several members of an Alaskan tribe who claimed the Canadian mining company polluted their town's drinking water.

In court documents filed Friday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, Teck Cominco requested an order allowing the consent decree in the case to be lodged as is, despite pleas from the plaintiffs for an amendment.
