Bayer Fires New Round In Contraceptive Pill Fight

Law360, New York (August 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bayer AG unleashed another legal salvo at Sandoz Inc. Friday in an ongoing patent fight over its oral contraceptive drugs, marking at least the third time in the last year the German pharmaceutical giant has taken aim at various drugmakers in U.S. courts.

In a lawsuit filed Friday in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Bayer alleged that Sandoz – a unit of Novartis Inc. - infringed two of its patents by filing an abbreviated new drug application for drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets....
