No Mistrial For Bratz Despite Juror's Ethnic Slur

Law360, New York (August 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied a request by MGA Entertainment Inc., the maker of Bratz dolls, for a mistrial after the court removed one juror for making ethnic slurs against MGA CEO Isaac Larian in a copyright battle with Barbie manufacturer Mattel Inc.

Judge Stephen Larson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California refused to grant MGA's motion for a mistrial Monday, according to Mattel.
