Genworth Ensnarled In More Bid-Rigging Probes

Law360, New York (August 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A subsidiary of Genworth Financial Inc. has received subpoenas from the offices of the Florida and Connecticut attorneys general about alleged antitrust violations involving the sale of guaranteed investment contracts to municipalities.

Virginia-based Genworth said in a filing with the SEC Monday that it received the subpoenas in June 2008.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice have also investigated the insurance holding company's municipal sales practices.
