Eli Lilly Rips Expert For 'Unreliable' Cymbalta Testimony

Law360, New York (May 1, 2015, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Eli Lilly & Co. has argued that a causation expert for the plaintiffs in two lawsuits over its anti-depressant Cymbalta offered "unreliable" testimony at a recent deposition on issues including medical diagnosis for one of the plaintiffs and certain internal company documents. 

In a filing in California federal court, Eli Lilly sought to exclude the testimony of Dr. Joseph Glenmullen, arguing that he lacked the expertise to testify on plaintiff Claudia Herrera's diagnoses for the hormone-related conditions hypothyroidism and perimenopause.
