University of California Sues Medical Device Makers Over Aneurism Treatment

Law360, New York (December 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The University of California sued medical device makers Micro Therapeutics Inc. of Irvine, California and Dendron GmbH of Bochum, Germany in the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern California, alleging infringement of twelve patents related to the treatment of brain aneurisms.

The University of California is seeking preliminary and permanent injunctive relief against the defendants from infringement. Damages, including treble damages for willful infringement, are also being sought.
