RIM Prevails In Drawn-Out PDA Patent Suit

Law360 (May 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Blackberry maker Research In Motion Ltd., along with a top rival, has been cleared of infringing technology for a cutting-edge personal data assistant, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed construction of a key term in the patent-in-suit.

RIM’s victory was shared with Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA Inc., which was named in the same November 2003 lawsuit, filed by Luxembourg-based patent-holding company InPro II Licensing SARL.
