Best Buy Settles Age Discrimination Suit In Calif.

Law360, New York (August 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Without admitting any wrongdoing, Best Buy Co. Inc. has agreed to pay $17,500 to settle an age discrimination lawsuit that accused it of failing to hire a 68-year-old man because of his age.

On Wednesday, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California signed off on a consent decree between the company and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which filed the lawsuit in 2007 on behalf of Reinhold Schouweiler.
