Foam Cos. Pay $275M To Settle Price-Fixing Class Action

Law360, New York (May 19, 2015, 5:13 PM EDT) -- Six foam manufacturers agreed to pay nearly $276 million to stave off a class action trial over claims that they fixed prices in a series of settlements that will see their direct customers recover as much as 80 percent of their estimated damages, according to a Tuesday court filing.

The deals were reached on the eve of trial between the direct purchaser class of plaintiffs and the final six defendants who had yet to settle with the group, according to the plaintiffs' request for settlement approval.
