Ford Settles Class Action Over Focus Brakes

Law360, New York (August 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following a state court's approval of a class action settlement by Ford Motor Co., California plaintiffs have until Sept. 16 to submit reimbursement claims for allegedly defective front brakes on 2000 and 2001 Focus models.

Under the settlement, Ford will cut checks to all current and former owners and lessees of the cars in question to cover the cost of repairing brakes plaintiffs alleged were faulty.
