AT&T Yellow Pages Publisher Hit With Age Bias Suit

Law360, New York (August 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- AT&T Corp. has been hit with a collective action alleging the company fired older employees in order to avoid paying their full retirement benefits packages.

Richard Hretz, 48, filed the collective action Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The suit accuses AT&T's Yellow Pages-publishing subsidiary Ameritech Publishing Inc. and the Communication Workers of America International Union of violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and state civil rights laws.
