Calif. Cap-And-Trade System Begins Taking Shape

Law360, New York (August 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Recent developments in the West provide a preview of the likely greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions reduction program, including a California and western regional cap-and-trade system, developing in that part of the country.

California Air Resources Board Draft Scoping Plan

On June 26, 2008 the California Air Resources Board (“CARB”) released a draft of California’s scoping plan for the reduction of GHG emissions. This was a major step towards the implementation of California’s Assembly Bill (“AB”) 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.
