Maryland AG Plans Suit Over Fort Meade Cleanup

Law360, New York (August 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler has announced plans to sue the U.S. Army for allegedly failing to comply with a cleanup order for groundwater and soil contamination at Fort George G. Meade.

In a notice of intent issued Tuesday, Gansler said pollutants at the site, including tetrachloroethene and arsenic, exceeded the Environmental Protection Agency's maximum acceptable levels, and that they may endanger public health and the environment.
