N.J. Plastics Maker Settles Over Emissions

Law360 (August 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Plastics company Colorite Specialty Resins Inc. has agreed to pay a $1.3 million penalty to settle a lawsuit over harmful emissions at a New Jersey manufacturing facility.

The penalty will be split between the United States and the state of New Jersey, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Tuesday.

The settlement also requires Colorite to perform two federal environmental projects valued at over $1 million that will further reduce vinyl chloride emissions from its PVC plastic and vinyl-making facility in Burlington, N.J.
