Law360, New York ( June 12, 2015, 12:01 PM EDT) -- On April 28, 2015, the Senate approved the Motor Vehicle Safety Whistleblower Act, which encourages whistleblowing based on automotive safety concerns. The bill provides a potentially enormous incentive for individuals to report motor vehicle defects: up to 30 percent of any settlement or adjudication by the U.S. Department of Transportation or U.S. Department of Justice that results in sanctions exceeding $1 million. The bill will now go to the House of Representatives, and will then head to President Obama upon approval....
