2nd Circ. Rejects Milberg's Plea For More Fees

Law360 (August 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed an attorneys' fees award for Milberg LLP that is only about one-third of what the law firm requested for representing the plaintiffs in a class action filed over the accounting scandal at Nortel Networks Corp.

In a per curium decision issued Tuesday, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit found that the lower court did not abuse its discretion in awarding Milberg about $38 million, or 3 percent of the class recovery plus $3.75...
