Judge Approves Settlement In SONY BMG Class Action

Law360, New York (May 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. District Judge gave her final endorsement Monday to a settlement agreement in a class action lawsuit brought against Sony Music BMG last November.

Bombarded by class action lawsuits over its failed anti-piracy technology, the music entertainment giant tentatively agreed to the settlement brought by plaintiffs that in January had accused the company of putting consumers’ computers at risk.
