Energy Drink Maker Sues Rival For False Advertising

Law360, New York (August 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hansen Beverage Co., the maker of Monster energy drinks, has filed a suit claiming Vital Pharmaceutical Inc.'s Redline brand doesn't live up to its promise to keep customers “amped to the max” for seven hours.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Hansen claims the company, known as VPX, has committed false advertising and engaged in unfair competition under the Lanham Act and California law.
