GM Bids To Have Delphi Labor Hearings Postponed

Law360 (May 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In an attempt to stave off a possible strike at bankrupt auto parts maker Delphi Corp., General Motors Corp. has petitioned the judge overseeing the erstwhile GM subsidiary’s Chapter 11 proceedings to postpone the ongoing hearings on Delphi’s motions to cancel its labor pacts, a request the judge has apparently denied.

Hearings on Delphi’s 1113-1114 motions were ongoing as of Wednesday morning, which led to many reports that the judge had denied GM’s request. However, there was no order denying the request in the docket, and...
