Capitol Hill Eyes Reform Of Post-Grant Opposition

Law360 (May 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As Capitol Hill gave patent reform another nod this week, industry representatives pushed lawmakers to help curb excess patent legislation by crafting a beefed-up process for disputing granted patents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

IP producers and experts, asked to speak before the Senate Judiciary’s Subcommittee on IP, discussed ways to create new post-grant review procedures that would allow the issuing agency to address challenged patents, rather than the courts.
