Mrs. Fields Makes Bittersweet Move To Ch. 11

Law360, New York (August 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After weeks of rumors, Mrs. Fields Original Cookies Inc. has ducked into bankruptcy, armed with a prepackaged plan that the company hopes will allow it to emerge from Chapter 11 protection quickly.

On Monday, the chocolate chip cookie legend confirmed that it and several of its subsidiaries had filed voluntary bankruptcy petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
