LG, Quanta Settle Long-Running Patent Spat

Law360, New York (August 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- LG Electronics Inc. and Quanta Computer Inc. have reached a settlement that effectively puts to rest three federal court suits in a long-running patent battle between the companies that, in one instance, went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court on the issue of downstream royalty fees.

Quanta and LG have entered into a licensing agreement, with Quanta agreeing to pay LG royalties for use of LG’s patents related to a computer system, a representative for LG said on Tuesday.
