Ex-AIG Chief Seeks Dismissal Of Securities Suit

Law360, New York (May 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Lawyers for former American International Group Inc. (AIG) chairman Maurice “Hank” Greenberg have asked a Delaware judge to throw out a lawsuit alleging high-ranking AIG executives received millions of dollars in improper payments.

Greenberg’s lawyer Edward P. Welch argued Wednesday that the lawsuit was filed too late in the Delaware Court of Chancery and unfairly focused on a connection that helped AIG gain millions in profits.

The lawsuit, brought on behalf of the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana, sought to recover losses from Greenberg, his C.V....
