Deals Rumor Mill: Alpha Natural, Getrag, Banco Penta

By Linda Chiem (June 30, 2015, 6:54 PM EDT) -- Alpha Natural Resources Inc.'s creditors have tapped advisers to prepare for possible restructuring talks ahead of an August debt payment, as the coal mining company struggles with slumping demand and low coal prices, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. Holders of Alpha's senior loans, including Citigroup Inc. and Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC, are working with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Ducera Partners LLC, a new financial advisory firm led by former Perella Weinberg Partners banker Michael Kramer, the Journal said. Kirkland & Ellis LLP has been hired by holders of Alpha's secured bonds — which include Capital Research and Management Co., Franklin Resources Inc., Bain Capital, Sankaty Advisors LLC and BlueMountain Capital Management LLC — to advise them on the talks, the report said....
