10th Circ. Tosses Kazakh Oil Consortium Suit

Law360 (August 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An independent oil and gas drilling company cannot collect damages from Shell Exploration BV and Total SA for being cut out of an oil consortium in Kazakhstan, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit agreed with a lower court ruling that Grynberg Production Corp. filed its claims against the British-Dutch and French oil companies after the statute of limitations expired.
