Xcel Agrees To Disclose Climate Change Risks

Law360, New York (August 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In response to pressure from the New York attorney general, Xcel Energy has agreed to broaden its disclosures of the risks associated with greenhouse gas emissions in the company's financial statements.

Under a binding and enforceable agreement made with New York's AG Andrew Cuomo, Xcel has voluntarily agreed to inform investors of the company's global warming-related financial risks in its 10-K filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
