States Face Calls For Sanctions In Zyprexa MDL

Law360, New York (September 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. magistrate judge in charge of discovery in the multidistrict litigation over Eli Lilly & Co.'s Zyprexa has directed the attorneys general of Louisiana and New Mexico to show cause why they should not be sanctioned for failing to comply with pretrial court orders.

Louisiana has until Thursday to defend itself in writing against calls for sanctions by the drugmaker, which accused both states of neglecting to comply with court instructions to produce documents for discovery.
