E.C. Delays Ruling On Suez, GDF Merger

Law360, New York (May 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has extended the deadline for its decision on the controversial merger between French energy companies Suez SA and Gaz de France SA, pushing the date of its initial ruling in the matter back 10 days to July 3.

The extension was granted after Belgian competition authorities asked to review the part of the deal that involved Belgium.
