Insurance Co.'s Bid To Block Docs Fails On Appeal

Law360, New York (September 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Brown & Brown Insurance Inc.'s effort to block documents obtained by Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal in an antitrust probe from being shared failed on Tuesday as the state's supreme court declined to rule on the company's appeal of the AG's subpoena.

The state's top court dismissed the appeal in a 4-1 decision, noting that “the denial of a motion for summary judgment does not result in a judgment.”
