Colo. Sues Military Over Leaky Chemical Weapons

Law360, New York (September 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has sued the U.S. Department of Defense for violating hazardous waste laws by storing obsolete chemical weapons at a facility in Pueblo, Colo.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the state's health department asked the court to require the U.S. Department of Defense, its Assembled Chemical Weapons Assessment Program and the Department of the Army to treat and destroy chemical weapons stored at the Pueblo Chemical Depot by Dec....
