Calif. Waste Solutions Faces EPA Fines

Law360 (September 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Major trash and recycling manager California Waste Solutions has violated the Clean Water Act for five years, federal officials said this week, and is responsible for waste discharges into a San Francisco Bay waterfront and tributary.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said that CWS faces hefty fines for violating its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination permit at three locations in Oakland and San Jose, Calif.
