Philly Firms Eye New Locales As Local Market Stagnates

Law360, Philadelphia (July 24, 2015, 2:07 PM EDT) -- The recent moves by two of Philadelphia's largest firms into the Chicago market demonstrate the limited prospects for growth in the City of Brotherly Love, where robust local competition and a flat regional economy are prompting firm leaders to look elsewhere to expand.

Cozen O'Connor finalized a merger with Chicago's Meckler Bulger Tilson in June, while Fox Rothschild LLP opened a four-lawyer office in the Windy City in April that has since grown to 11 attorneys.
