Citizens United Can't Duck NY AG's Demand For Donor Names

Law360, New York (July 28, 2015, 7:17 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Monday denied an attempt by Citizens United to block state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's demand that it disclose its major donors in order to seek funds in the state, finding the conservative group is unlikely to succeed in a broader lawsuit.

Citizens United sought a preliminary injunction as part of a challenge of Schneiderman's request that the group and its Citizens United Foundation file a complete copy of their IRS Form 990 Schedule B, which lists names, addresses and total contributions from top donors, with the state's Charities Bureau.
