Ford Hit With Purported Class Action Over Severance

Law360, New York (September 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of former employees has taken aim at Ford Motor Co., accusing the automotive giant of illegally interfering with employees' severance plan and costing them benefits they believe they are due under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

On Friday, the plaintiffs, led by John Maczko, filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, accusing Ford of deliberately misidentifying the date of their employment for severance plan purposes.
