DOJ Taps Top Lawyer For Google-Yahoo Probe

Law360, New York (September 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly hired well-known antitrust litigator Sanford Litvack to mount a possible challenge to Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc.'s advertising deal, which has been decried by advertisers and by Microsoft Corp. as anti-competitive.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that U.S. lawyers working on DOJ's investigation of the Google-Yahoo deal said that Litvack has been asked to evaluate evidence gathered on the proposed pact and to work on the case if the DOJ pursues it.
