Louis Vuitton Wins $1.9M Default Trademark Judgment

Law360, New York (September 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Fashion company Louis Vuitton Malletier SA won a $1.9 million default judgment on Friday against a business accused of selling counterfeit fashion items.

U.S. District Judge Katharine S. Hayden of the District of New Jersey also ordered the accused counterfeiters' Web sites to be shut down.

The fashion house was awarded statutory damages of $1,978,119 as well as $5,295 in attorneys' fees, investigative fees and court costs.

Judge Hayden issued a permanent injunction shutting down GoElegant.com, LillysFashion.com “and any other domain name registered by [the defendants]...
