Senate Passes ADA Amendments Act

Law360, New York (September 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill Thursday that would overturn a series of Supreme Court decisions and expand what conditions are considered disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The bill, known as the ADA Amendments Act, was co-sponsored by 70 senators. It will now move back to the House of Representatives, which passed its own version of the bill this July by a 420-17 vote.
