Maui Anti-GMO Law Backers Seek Faster 9th Circ. Appeal

Law360, New York (August 13, 2015, 7:35 PM EDT) -- A citizens group trying to revive a Maui law restricting genetically modified crops in the county asked the Ninth Circuit to consolidate four appeals over the law on Wednesday, while the law's opponents argued one appeal is already moot.

The Shaka Movement and five individuals asked the court to consolidate four appeals: one of which came in a declaratory judgment suit by Shaka seeking to enforce the law and the other three stemmed from a federal lawsuit filed by Monsanto Co. and others attempting to block the law.
