ITC Launches Review Of LSI’s Integrated Circuits

Law360, New York (September 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has decided to follow up on Freescale Semiconductor Inc.’s claims that LSI Corp. is infringing its integrated circuit patents.

The ITC said Friday it has opened up an investigation into whether LSI’s circuits used in host adapters and device controllers are encroaching on Freescale’s technology.

Austin, Texas-based Freescale lodged the complaint with the agency last month alleging Milpitas, Calif.-based LSI violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act by importing products containing these integrated circuits into the United States. Freescale is seeking...
