Fracking Operator To Pay $6M To End OT Class Action

By Matt Fair (August 19, 2015, 3:08 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge gave preliminary approval Tuesday to a $6 million deal aimed at ending a class action accusing Calfrac Well Services Corp. of failing to compensate wellsite workers throughout the United States for overtime wages.

The settlement agreement would see Calfrac establish a fund to compensate more than 1,000 field workers in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Arkansas and North Dakota who say they weren't properly compensated for overtime under both the Fair Labor Standards Act and respective wage laws in their home states.
