Wistron Sues Samsung Over PC Power Patents

Law360, New York (September 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Taiwan's Wistron Corp. has filed a lawsuit alleging a slew of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s products — including cell phones, televisions and DVD players — infringe its patents for a power management system for computers.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, Wistron alleges Samsung has infringed three patents covering technology that activates power to a personal computer using electronic signals rather than a manual switch.
