ProMOS Sues LSI, Agere Over Semiconductor Patent

Law360, New York (September 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Semiconductor manufacturer ProMOS Technologies Inc. has accused competitor LSI Corp. and its subsidiary Agere Systems Inc. of making and selling semiconductor parts that infringe one of ProMOS' patents.

ProMOS filed the suit on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, claiming that LSI had violated its rights to a patent for a “cache including decoupling register circuits.”

The patent, U.S. Patent Number 5,488,709, was assigned to MOS Electronics Corp. in 1996 and was later transferred to ProMOS as part of a merger,...
